At the start of the year, dotsure.co.za, South Africa’s top-rated pet insurance provider*, set themselves a target of raising and donating R1 million to animal welfare before the end of 2019.
dotsure.co.za created the “Unconditional Love” campaign, which launched with sponsorship of the first season of The Bachelor South Africa, as a way of thinking, acting and helping rescue and shelter pets around the country through charity and pet insurance. The aim is to make a difference in the lives of animals that have suffered from cruelty and neglect. So far dotsure.co.za has been able to raise and donate over R540,000 to animal welfare charities in South Africa.
This has been possible due to the phenomenal growth dotsure.co.za has enjoyed in recent times. Despite economic slow-down, dotsure.co.za has grown over 400% between July 2016 and June 2019 and now employs over 150 staff in historic, mountain-facing buildings of George, situated on the Garden Route.
“As animal lovers, we try to make a difference in the lives of shelter pets wherever we can. We couldn’t do this without our awesome customers because every pet insurance policy bought online by them enables us to help feed hungry shelter pets waiting for their forever home,” says David Roache, Managing Director of dotsure.co.za.
Policy holders and staff raise and donate money through a range of initiatives including National Pet Week which resulted in the donation of over 1.1 tonnes of pet food, the annual dotsure.co.za Polar Bear Plunge , which raised 2,000 blankets for people and pets in need this winter, WODAC , which resulted in over 775 meals being donated to shelter pets; and other charitable projects. Just by buying a pet policy online, dosture.co.za will feed a hungry shelter pet at the AACL for a month.
Roache continues, “All pets deserve access to the nutrition they need to thrive, no matter what their circumstances. I am absolutely thrilled to have reached donations of over half of a million Rand. We have been able to help so many worthy causes, and it’s hugely rewarding for all of us to know that we’ve played a role in changing the lives of thousands of shelter animals for the better”.
dotsure.co.za is now driving towards the ultimate goal of reaching the R1 million target. There are a number of ways that you can help reach this wonderful target. You can get involved by supporting dotsure.co.za, spreading the word and sharing through social media. Let’s give the animal welfare world something to cheer about.
