International Pet Week is dedicated to celebrating pets all over the world that enrich our lives each and every day and to encourage responsible pet care.

It’s no secret that dotsure.co.za care about the wellbeing of animals, so we just had to do something special in celebration of International Pet Week, from 6 to 12 May 2019. Our pet-loving employees, together with those from our holding company, Badger Holdings, collaborated to collect pet food and monetary donations for hungry shelter pets at our local Garden Route SPCA and Oudtshoorn Dogs In Need (ODIN).

With the encouragement of a joyful employee in a dog mascot costume, we collected a total of 94 bags and cans of pet food and over R3,700 in monetary donations. The funds were used to buy more pet food, which resulted in over 1.1 tonnes of pet food being delivered to the Garden Route SPCA and ODIN. That’s about 10,000 meals – enough to feed over 160 shelter pets for a month.

“All pets deserve access to the nutrition they need to thrive, no matter what their circumstances. We proudly celebrated International Pet Week with the aim of making a positive difference to the lives of shelter pets waiting for their forever homes,” David Roache, managing director at dotsure.co.za
