  1. Terms and conditions
    1. The promoter to this promotion is Pick n Pay Retailers Pty Ltd (“Pick n Pay”) (registration number: 1973/004739/07) a company incorporated in the Republic of South Africa and having its registered address at 101 Rosmead Avenue, Kenilworth, 7708.
    2. The affiliate to this promotion is Dotsure Limited (Registration Number 2006/000723/06) referred to as “Dotsure”.
    3. All persons entering the Pick n Pay Pet Club Smart Shopper Promotion ("promotion") ("the entrants") agree that the promotion rules as set out in these terms and conditions are binding on them. A copy of these terms and conditions is available at www.pnp.co.za.
  2. Important notice
    1. These terms and conditions and promotion rules contain certain terms and conditions which appear in similar text style to this clause and which:
      1. may limit the risk or liability of the promoter or a third party; and/or
      2. may create risk or liability for the entrant; and/or
      3. may compel the entrant to indemnify the promoter or a third party; and/or
      4. serves as an acknowledgement, by the entrant, of a fact.
      5. the entrant cannot be a juristic entity and must be an individual;
    2. The entrant's attention is drawn to these terms and conditions because they are important and should be carefully noted.
    3. Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to, or must be understood to, unlawfully restrict, limit or avoid any rights or obligations, as the case may be, created for either the entrant or the promoter in terms of the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 ("the CPA").
    4. The entrant acknowledges that by submitting his or her entry to the promotion he/she has been given an appropriate opportunity to first read these terms and conditions before entering and he/she understands and agrees to the terms and conditions.
    5. All entrants to this promotion participate entirely at their own risk. By reading and accepting these terms and conditions, the entrant gives consent to these risks and hereby indemnifies and holds harmless the promoters and Pick n Pay Stores Limited and all entities in the Pick n Pay group; their directors, employees and agents of any and all liability pertaining to any damage, cost, injuries and losses of whatever nature sustained as a result of their participation in the promotion and related events and activities, save where such damage, cost, injuries and losses are sustained as a result of the gross negligence or wilful misconduct of any indemnified party.
  3. Rules of the competition
    1. This promotion opens on 1 March 2022 and is an on-going promotion.
    2. Registered Smart Shoppers who are Pick n Pay Pet Club members and apply for a Dotsure pet insurance product are eligible for the following:
      1. A 50% discount on their comprehensive pet insurance policy premiums (pro-rata premiums and VAPS excluded) for the first 3 (three) months of their comprehensive pet insurance policy.
      2. Existing Dotsure customers will not qualify for the 50% discount.
      3. The discount offer will be available on a once-off basis to policies that incept on the date on which this discount offer becomes active and whilst it remains active.
      4. After the first 3 (three) months have lapsed the discount will no longer be provided and the standard pricing will be charged.
    3. To enter the promotion, the entrant must sign up to join the Pick n Pay Pet Club by:
      1. Agreeing to the online quote process and ticking the opt-in box. The Smart Shopper will be automatically signed up as a Pick n Pay Pet Club member.
      2. Visiting the Pick n Pay website, www.pnp.co.za/pet-club, Pick n Pay app or Smart Shopper portal and including their Smart Shopper card number and personal details, including but not limited to, email address and mobile number or send a FREE SMS to short code 30926.
      3. The Smart Shopper or Pet Club member must apply for a Dotsure pet insurance product by:
        1. Calling the Dotsure call centre directly or
        2. Scanning the provided QR code found on in-store POS/printed communications or clicking on the link found in online communications. This will direct them to the Pet Club insurance offer landing page ( www.pnp.co.za/dotsure-pet-insurance ). This page will have a link to the dotsure.co.za pet insurance campaign page where the customer will need to complete the online application page and provide their Smart Shopper card number for the discount; or
        3. Visiting www.pnp.co.za/dotsure-pet-insurance directly; or
        4. Visiting the dotsure.co.za pet insurance campaign from the communications that dotsure.co.za utilise.
      4. All applications for insurance made via the dotsure.co.za Portal are subject to and must comply with dotsure.co.za’s normal approval criteria and are governed by the normal terms and conditions that apply to the requested product. The full terms and conditions are contained within dotsure.co.za’s policy documents. This can be accessed at any time on the dotsure.co.za Portal.
      5. Dotsure reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this discount offer with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud). The decision of dotsure.co.za in all matters under its control is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
      6. Dotsure.co.za shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations, where the failure is caused by something outside its reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, weather conditions, fire, flood, hurricane, strike, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, inevitable accidents, supervening legislation or any other circumstances amounting to force majeure.
      7. Customers can add more than 1 pet to their policy and qualify for the 50% discount. For the avoidance of doubt, the discount will apply in respect of the premium of the policy not in respect of each pet.

    4. In order to qualify as an entrant for this promotion:
      1. the entrant must live in the Republic of South Africa;
      2. the entrant must provide correct and full personal details, as required; and
      3. the entrant must be 18 years old or older.
      4. the entrant cannot be a juristic entity and must be an individual;
      5. The promotion is open to all registered Pick n Pay Smart Shoppers that join the Pick n Pay Pet Club
      6. The promoters, Pick n Pay Retailers (Proprietary) Limited, any entity in the Pick n Pay Group or Company, their directors, members, partners, employees, agents or consultants, the suppliers of goods or services in connection with this promotion, or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the above-named parties and their respective spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members are not permitted to participate in this promotion.
  4. General
    1. By entering the promotion in accordance with its terms, you are entering a promotion for the purposes of the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 ("CPA") and the promotion will be conducted in accordance with the relevant provisions of the CPA.
