Unconditional Love campaign feeds over 840 shelter pets

Animal welfare is at the heart of what we do, and we believe it is our responsibility as a pet insurer to give back to animals in need. So, as the main sponsor of the first season of The Bachelor SA, we launched the Unconditional Love campaign alongside the season premiere on Valentine’s Day, 14 February 2019, to directly impact the lives of shelter pets.
The Unconditional Love campaign, which ran for 14 weeks, has made a significant difference in the lives of hundreds of shelter animals, and with the help of animal-lovers across South Africa, the campaign was a roaring success. Together, we have fed over 840 hungry shelter pets at the AACL for a month and found forever homes for 6 rescue pets.
Any pet can be a positive addition to your life but adopting a shelter pet can be a uniquely rewarding experience. Adoption gives you the chance to completely change a shelter animal’s life. There’s nothing quite as heart-warming as seeing a rescue dog or cat who had previously been abused finally realize that they’re safe, come out of their shell and return to the enthusiastically happy and loving companion that they once were.
Adoption not only provides a shelter pet with a loving and stable home, but also saves them from being euthanized. It has a positive impact on the pet industry as a whole: when you rescue a pet instead of buying one, you take money away from puppy mills that use harmful breeding practices. Not to mention that rescuing a pet costs a lot less than purchasing one from a store.
