On Saturday, 29 February 2020, parents and pets strolled through the streets of Emmarentia and Greenside for the dotsure.co.za Night Walkies event for a good cause. Over 4000 dogs and their humans joined the 2.7 km walk and lit up the streets with bright LED collars. The sunset walk, which was in aid of the Animal Anti-Cruelty League, raised in excess of R100 000 for shelter pets in need.
Pooches were pampered with doggy hampers (or ‘Do Good’ bags) and received health checks to make sure that they’re in tip top shape. Parents and pets could also strike a pose for the camera and take part in a dog-friendly obstacle course.
This Jozi night walk was an unforgettable get-together for dog owners, and their dogs, filled with ‘pawsome’ activities, delicious food stands, pamper stations and live entertainment by Shortstraw.
Thank you to all the good-hearted humans and furry friends who supported this event by taking a step towards making a difference in the lives of shelter pets in need.
