#1day800dogs

Dog owners and their pups are invited to head over to The Big Red Barn Farm Venue near Centurion, Pretoria on Saturday, 28 October 2017 for a record-breaking attempt. The doggy day by dotsure.co.za, which will feature a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title attempt to break the record for the Largest gathering of dogs wearing bandanas, will be held in aid of the Animal Anti-Cruelty League and to educate pet owners everywhere about the importance of taking care of their pets. All proceeds raised on the day will be matched by dotsure.co.za and donated to the Animal Anti-Cruelty League in support of protecting and caring for all animals.

The aim of this gathering, a first for South Africa, is to break an existing Guinness World Records title for the Largest gathering of dogs wearing bandanas, currently held by the RSPCA ACT (Australia) with 764 dogs. The day will begin with the registration of both pet owners and their furry friends, where the bandanas will be handed out. Following this, the big countdown in hope of breaking the current world record will begin. After the count, there will be a fun doggy walkathon, where pets and their owners are invited to stretch their legs and receive their award handouts at the finish line. Pet owners are advised to be there early, as the walk will begin promptly at 9am.

Guests are then invited to spend the rest of the doggy day by dotsure.co.za enjoying the Irene Village Markets arts and crafts, food trucks, pet stalls, and live entertainment.

“As animal lovers ourselves, we created dotsure.co.za for the love of our four-legged friends. Pets are such an important part of our lives, we feel they deserve the same care that we afford ourselves. That’s why we’ve developed a leading range of pet insurance products that lets you name your price, and ensures that your beloved pets are adequately cared for. The dotsure.co.za event is therefore centred around the Animal Anti-Cruelty League; the second largest Independent Animal Welfare Organisation in South Africa. We have zero tolerance for animal cruelty and so being able to support an organisation that fights this every day means a lot to us,” says Managing Director, David Roache.

To be part of this GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title attempt, an entry fee-donation of R20 per dog will be required on the day, or more depending on how much you’d like to donate. You can register for the record-breaking doggy day out online, at dotsure.co.za, and this includes a doggy bandana. (Hint: Having trouble with the link?
